Great State Forest lots of hiking trails, horseback riding trails, seasonal hunting. Ever crowded, very quiet.

We Jeep around Florida finding history one trail at a time. Goethe meets that perfectly with it's easy trails and cool things to find. The Goethe Giant is a cypress tree that is around 909 years old!!!! One of the few that survived the logging industry. Old rail road beds and bridges, the Red Lodge, and well maintained trails. Beware during the summer months of the yellow flies. They are relentless. If you are looking for a place to eat, check out the Black Prong village. They have a great little restaurant called the Galloping Gourmet. Its excellent. Stop by the ranger station to check on any road closure. Enjoy the ride it's very stock friendly. - FloridaJeepRides

Beautiful and peaceful, and so are the dead when they get lost on a poorly marked trail that matches no map. The trees, when they do have markers, aren’t marked on both sides. No markings for forks, either. And green for a trail color? This is a STATE FOREST. It’s like Florida is stupid on purpose. Can’t have those elites who wrote the Boy Scout Handbook a hundred years ago telling us what to do and taking our freedumbs away….

Walk to Bethlehem was so amazing again this year. Love taking our family here. It's a free event from December 9 to December 23 every year 7 to 9 pm. Great place to take your family

Another one of my go to spots when I want to find some snakes or see wild flowers, or even check up on the Goethe giant. Just a close by place I know like the back of my hand and I can see wildlife. Plus I realized I had zero pictures of pygmy rattlesnakes or cottonmouths so I zipped over there really fast and had pics of both within my first 15 minutes of being there.

This Forest is very special to me, when you first start walking in you are completely submerged in nature, everything is alive and breathing! The more you walk, the more your mind quiets a down and you're walking along the trail of meditation. It's amazing therapy walking in here day or night.
